In March 2007, Lord Dearing’s Languages Review made its recommendations for revitalising languages in schools.
It called for a renaissance in secondary languages, envisaging a reformed curriculum and new assessment possibilities, both at GCSE and through alternative pathways. These changes are to be underpinned with more support for language teachers and through national promotion of the importance of languages.
This CD-Rom has been produced to help make a reality of these proposals. It offers an explanation of the new framework for languages learning and guidance on the implications for the curriculum, for assessment and teacher support.
